[2024/01/08 15:46] Alicia Frakture: Do we know what direction we need to head?
[2024/01/08 15:48] Sonja Bikergrrl: You're aware of the general direction, certainly. They've been there a while, you know of a similarly sized druegar outpost, and a dwarven mine, and the area where the surface dwellers have moved into.
[2024/01/08 15:49] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Atilla will inquire with the guards as to if these dwarves came from the same route as the surface dwellers.
[2024/01/08 15:51] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Huh!" snorts the guard. "These came from the weak surface dwarves. They'll serve well as slaves or food." Another guard chimes in. "We avoided the surface dwellers, surely you know they've been coming for all our slaves - and not paying!"
[2024/01/08 15:54] Alicia Frakture: Skamos looks at them. if they become food dibs on their beards.
[2024/01/08 15:55] Sonja Bikergrrl: There's another round of muttered curses in dwarfish, and a few more spearbutts smack heads. "Let's not get them exciteable, makes them harder to handle."
[2024/01/08 15:57] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Alright. We're supposed to be onto our patrol. Anything else to know about the surface dwellers?"
[2024/01/08 15:58] Sonja Bikergrrl: A guard shrugs. "They're going to be better off when we slit their throats for them."
[2024/01/08 15:59] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Hah! Sounds like fun." He gives a loose salute and starts heading up to where the surface dwellers should be to get a look at their encampment.
[2024/01/08 16:00] Alicia Frakture: Shrugs and begins moving with Atilla mimicking a slit throat and making a gurgling sound as they walk
[2024/01/08 16:00] Sonja Bikergrrl: It's going to be a good hour of traversing caverns and cave systems to get there. Some places are a tight fit, others are vast areas with sudden plunging caverns, but you're familiar with the way.
[2024/01/08 16:02] Sonja Bikergrrl: Occasionally you wait as some creature or other passes. You're barely half way there when you hear something strange, the sounds of clumsy flight and wheezed curses... and shortly after... a flickering light that dances about. Is someone insane???
[2024/01/08 16:02] Alicia Frakture: Peeks around the nearest outcropping to see what is going on
[2024/01/08 16:03] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Mind the water pools, most of them are deeper than they look," Atilla says quietly, and then looking ahead to the flickering light. He grins, taking his composite bow into his hands and readying an arrow.
[2024/01/08 16:04] Sonja Bikergrrl: To your considerable astonishment, a human stumbles from a passage, stooped over and an arm wrapped about himself, grimacing and cursing, trying to hold his lantern up. Mostly, you're astonished he got this far... the fact he's being tailed by two figures is no surprise at all.
[2024/01/08 16:07] Alicia Frakture: What figures are tailing him?
[2024/01/08 16:07] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: A weak, panicked human. Atilla gets into a hidden position and aims for the hidden figures until he can positively identify them. If it seems like duergar, he'll loose an arrow on sight.
[2024/01/08 16:08] Sonja Bikergrrl: They look fairly medium sized, too far to see much more than that, and the light is screwing with your vision too
[2024/01/08 16:09] Sonja Bikergrrl: The stumbling figure comes more fully into view, too busy cursing to pay much attention to anything. Behind him - two humans, weapons ready, closing fast. "Hold, there!"
[2024/01/08 16:10] Alicia Frakture: Skamos giggles...loudly
[2024/01/08 16:12] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: It's the humans in back which say this?
[2024/01/08 16:13] Sonja Bikergrrl: Yep. They're after the stumbling human.
[2024/01/08 16:13] Sonja Bikergrrl: None have noticed you (yet)
[2024/01/08 16:13] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Atilla aims for the least armored part of the chasing human's leg, to slow them down in their chase. once the arrow is loose, he'll move to a new section of hidden cover, keeping to the deep black shadows.
[2024/01/08 16:14] Sonja Bikergrrl: There's two, remember... and don't forget these guys are supposed to be working with you.
[2024/01/08 16:15] Alicia Frakture: Those are the surface beings that we have been looking for
[2024/01/08 16:18] Sonja Bikergrrl: also, called shot is -2 to hit. And for fun, a sucess is a roll on the critical hits table. Are you still going with that, Attilla?
[2024/01/08 16:18] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Working with us?

[2024/01/08 16:19] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: swapping to net instead, which has shorter range. Am I in range enough to actually hit someone with it this turn after i put my bow away?
[2024/01/08 16:20] Sonja Bikergrrl: hmm. The net hasn't anywhere near the range you'll need. You can hit with the bow - they're easily over 30' away
[2024/01/08 16:23] Alicia Frakture: I'm coming out in front of the guy. pointing a finger at him.
[2024/01/08 16:23] Sonja Bikergrrl: right... to do anything in particular?
[2024/01/08 16:24] Sonja Bikergrrl: Attilla?
[2024/01/08 16:24] Alicia Frakture: Just to make a presence at first and possibly cause the old guy to stop moving
[2024/01/08 16:26] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Gah, too many objectives. Atilla is advancing and getting to a close enough cover. The lolth-born human girl can do the jawin' this time.
[2024/01/08 16:27] Sonja Bikergrrl: Skamos stands up in full view and points at the guy. "Ggagaaaaaa!" he groans. "I need help! I need a healer....!" The two following draw up to a halt and swear loudly. "You there! That's one of ours, we're bringing him back!"
[2024/01/08 16:29] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: *If he got loose, then he's free game for whoever snags him first.* Atilla thinks to himself, trying to get behind the two would-be slave snaggers.
[2024/01/08 16:32] Sonja Bikergrrl: Half past the hour. Skamos?
[2024/01/08 16:32] Alicia Frakture: Skamos looks between old guy and the two behind him. "I don't know...." She smirks."I mean I could claim him. Could always use a new test subject."
[2024/01/08 16:33] Sonja Bikergrrl: The two behind mutter to each other, then one calls out: "We have a truce agreement!" Meanwhile the guy in front collapses, gasping and swearing. "Healer!" he gasps. "Healer... please!"
[2024/01/08 16:33] Sonja Bikergrrl: Seems like a good place for the traditional cliffhanger ;)

[2024/01/08 16:35] Sonja Bikergrrl: indeed, you'll need a while to consider what you do...
